[Backdated to november 1, day after halloween shenanigans.]
Applejack ... it's Cooper. [There's a slight hesitation there.] Do you have a moment?

[Oh man. She almost doesn't pick up.]
...Yeah?
...Yeah?
[He can tell, and ... that troubles him. A lot. He breathes out audibly before he carries on.]
I wanted to apologise for what happened last night. Are you okay?

[She sighs quietly.]
I reckon it was an alright night, all things considered. But what in tarnation got into you?

[There's a brief pause as he considers how to explain.]
It seems like a lot of people started believing their costumes were their real identities yesterday. Mine was that of a mad man.
... I'm very sorry I put you through that kind of ordeal. I feel terrible about it.
[With a soft tone that marks how sincere he is. He's really really sorry. ;;]

[She pauses for a moment.]
Y'know that's just about the strangest thing I've ever heard. But the way ya said it... [Tch.] Either you're tellin' the truth, or are real good at lyin'.

I don't lie.
[And this is true. In part because he's not too good at it, so ... there you go.]
[He sighs. On his end, he's rubbing his face a little.]
I... don't know what to say. I just hope you can forgive me and believe me when I tell you that those actions weren't mine.

You're darn lucky the rest of my friends weren't with me when you came up. D'you know what kind of nightmares you would have given a gal like Fluttershy?
[O-oh god. He. Hadn't actually thought about that. Hadn't known they were there. And he's never been happier that he didn't know about it.]
[He almost doesn't WANT to think about it. It's true -- someone like Fluttershy ...]
I didn't know they were in town.
[In a low voice. Yes, AJ, he is clearly thinking about the damage he could have caused.]

[She sighs quietly. The tone in his voice shows how sorry he is. AJ's all for giving a tongue-lashing for doing something wrong, but she doesn't believe in overkill.]
I paid to bring them into town for Nightmare Night. They're stayin' in my room at the Inn.

[He nods to himself. Still feeling pretty bad about everything - in a way that makes him unable to really ... come up with a good answer. What can he say? He doesn't want to veer from the topic at hand, because, well, but he doesn't really want to dwell on it more than necessary, either.]
[Sooo. There's a lengthy silence on his end before he speaks.]
Can we meet?

Can we meet?
... D'ya promise not to try anythin'?
[She feels that he's telling the truth, but still. She has to have his word.]
[She feels that he's telling the truth, but still. She has to have his word.]
I promise.
[He's not quite certain why he asked for a meeting, but he feels that maybe it'll be easier to set things back somewhat right between them that way.]

... Alright. I'll be waitin' outside the Inn.
[He'll be there a few minutes later, looking pretty subdued - and definitely not threatening.]
[AJ quietly sits outside the Inn, petting Jessie, who is sitting in her lap. The pup lays quietly, accepting the affection, until it catches a familiar scent, and leaps from AJ's lap and runs towards Cooper.]
[Aw, puppy - he laughs quietly and leans down to greet the dog pokémon with pettings and a grinned "hey there, Jessie". He wasn't all that good with animals before but it's safe to say they've grown on him a lot in the year he's been in Johto.]
[Jessie barks happily, running circles around Cooper. During all this, Applejack walks over. She'll let the two have some bonding, since the scene really is rather cute.]
Hey, Coop.
Hey, Coop.
[He looks up and gives Applejack a small (somewhat unsure) smile. He'd seen her coming but had thought it might be better if she approach herself.]
Morning, Applejack.
[He pauses, studies her for a moment, and can't help but ask again, just to be sure.]
You okay?

I'm alright, I reckon. Got to spend the night with my best friends.
[La la la off subject.]
[La la la off subject.]
[Yeah you just keep trying that.]
You know that's not what I meant.
You know that's not what I meant.
[Damn.]
I'm... maybe a lil' nervous.
I'm... maybe a lil' nervous.
[He'd ... expected nothing less, but it still troubles him to hear. He nods, though.]
I'm sorry. I care about you. The last thing I want is to make you scared or uneasy.

Can.... we just chalk it up to holiday gone awry?
Yeah.
[That's what it was, after all. But god, he's going to keep feeling bad about it. Tries for a smile, though.]
That's a good summary.
