[Things are going well on the travel to Goldenrod, and AJ is leading the pack. Like, way in front. She's a little fidgety and keeps looking behind her, at the others, before quickly snapping her head back to look straight before someone can catch her eye. Eventually though, when she thinks she's far enough ahead, she'll take out her journal.]

H-hey, y'all.

To answer your question, that depends on how you feel, really.

I mean... is it really bugging you or is it one of those things where you're just... happy to be around 'em and don't need much else?

_{[... Of course, if she'd paid much attention to Fluttershy's earlier transmission (the poor girl never seemed to speak up, so Heather rarely paid attention), she'd probably know instantly what it was all about...]}

W-well it's kinda both. 'Course I'm happy just bein' around her... but I can't help but feel all tingly an' such when we're together...

[Odd, she didn't seem like that the last time they talked. But then again, girls can be really weird when it comes to crushes and all.]

[Applejack hates that she's acting this way. It's so not like her...]

It just makes me nervous, is all. I don't wanna hurt our friendship... an' I have no idea how the rest of the gals will think.

_{[There's a brief silence.]}

_{[AWH! Although ... man, Heather sure wouldn't have expected that from a country-type person like AJ. Heather needs to get rid of some of that old-fashioned stereotyping, clearly.]}

WELL, uh... if it's both, maybe you'll wanna... y'know, talk to her about it.

[There's a long pause as AJ deals with the super intense blush on her face.]

Y-yeah. It's a her...

[Oh, hey, did she just say 'somepony', she probably knew Fluttershy then.]

... Well, that might depend on who the person is, to be honest. If they're really shy, you might need to be the one to tell them, because they might not tell you ever if they like you back.

Oh, umm, you wouldn't happen to know Fluttershy by any chance, would you?

Y-yeah. I know her. We're from the same world, actually.

[She giggles.]

I thought so. Some words you use don't really fit with other worlds.

Anyway, I'm Hikari. What's your name?

I try to determine if my feelings are mutual and then let them know how I'd like to proceed.

_{[Okay, Heather can't help it. She laughs. Not meanly-- just... laughs. Heather's reaction to a lot of things is to laugh.]}

[AJ isn't sure how to respond to the laughing, part of it calms her, part of it makes her more nervous.]

Well, nothing really. Other than saying 'everypony' or 'somepony'. It doesn't really make sense unless you're from a world where everyone or almost everyone is a pony.

[Maybe she should tell Applejack to just tell Fluttershy how she felt? It wasn't like Fluttershy was ever going to figure it out, especially with what she thought was going on.]

["Oh dear" is right. Awkward situations ahoy.]

...I reckon you're right. I keep forgettin' that not everypony was turned into a hue-man when they came here.

In surprisingly many cases, yes. I can make no guarantees as to how it might turn out but it's a good place to start.
