Any of you folks ever wonder just how big this world is? I mean, even Johto an' Kanto put together ain't anywhere near the size of Equestria, 'an the pokemon... seems like every time we think we found 'em all, another hundred or so fall outta thin air.

...Sometimes literally.

I just wonder if there's more to this world than we've seen.

Feels like most of it, at least. A couple cities in Kanto, still, but that's 'bout it.

Well we know there are at least four more regions. Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, and Kalos. Why we can't reach them, distance aside, is a whole other matter. I've yet to see a map that even reaches beyond Johto and Kanto.

I wonder why that is. Seems strange that there ain't any roads to anywhere else.

We could try to make a road of our own if we could figure out a direction to go... Or maybe there is a road, and it's being hidden from us somehow.

Or you can take a ship to other regions. I mean, neither Kanto nor Johto are landlocked. They just might not be selling us passes to other regions for some reason. Possibly legal. Goodness knows the law system around here confounds me sometimes.

If there's a whole other region we haven't discovered yet, that might actually explain where the swarms have been coming from. As for how to get there... who knows?

We'd either reach the ocean or a mountain. Either way.

I was talking to someone about this sometime back. We figured someone would have to carve a hole in one of those mountains sometime. Even then, someone's got to figure out what's behind them.

I'm sure there are other continents, though I am surprised just how small these regions are. Put together Kanto and Johto would fit at least three times into my home country. The way the new species show up is...well, interesting, but normally you'd need way, way more that we have around to make for an actually balanced ecosystem.

...I think. I didn't study ecology all that much, but I know there's way more species of animals back home.

Now that y'mention it, the predators really do seem t'outnumber the prey.

[Not that she's ever seen pokemon eating each other, but she's always assumed that's how it worked in the wild.]

By quite a bit, yeah. I'm not sure if Grass types should count as animal or plant species when thinking about this, either, which complicates it even more. And I don't think I've seen any Pokemon here be any smaller than a puppy! That really doesn't seem like it should work--the bigger something is, the more energy it needs to consume, and that energy is coming from somewhere.

There's at least a handful of other regions out there, and some even have airports. It's just that Johto and Kanto apparently don't believe in accessible tourism and travel.

...For airplanes, actually. Though I wouldn't be surprised if they allowed Flying-types to use them, too.

There are plenty of other regions, the problem is there is no way to get to any of them to tell how big this world really is.

That would take time and effort. Since there is no way for use non-locals to get out of these regions.

In all fairness, we haven't exactly been the best-behaved bunch of immigrants in the history of ever.
