What in tarnation is this!?

[The gear feed opens on the ground, half-obscured by grass. Not too far in the distance, a young, fair-skinned girl sits shakily on her knees, her face obscured by a ten-gallon hat and a large golden ponytail. Her knees are scuffed and her face is dirty, signs she just fell from her feet. However, rather than trying to get back up, she remains on her knees, staring at her hands in disbelief.]

I swear... [She pants.] I swear... if this is one of your tricks, Discord... [She tries to get back on her feet, but stumbles backwards. Her hat falls off her head, revealing her freckled face and shocking green eyes.]

You ain't gonna have any teeth when I'm through with you!!

Okay, this is going to sound crazy, but... you were here before.

Long story short, Johto has a habit of pulling people from their worlds, turning them human, and making them fight with monsters.

Some people leave and come back later. Usually without memories.

[He understands what that's like... kinda. Granted, Riku wanted to leave his world, anyway.]

[Sigh. Let's see if he can pull a semi-uplifting speech the way that Sora and Ven do.]

It's not like it's forever. You left once; I'm sure you'll be able to get back there at some point, and when you do, it'll be like you never left.

It really isn't. There's a lot to see and do around here. Even after a year, I doubt I've seen everything.

A whole year? [She swallows lightly. Right now, a year sounds like an eternity.]

There must be a lot to do if you haven't seen everythin' in a year an' a half.

Plus traveling takes a while. Sometimes you'll be on the road for a week at a time.

Or months. I'm meetin' some of my friends in Ecruteak, but it's gonna be a while before I get to see them, with what this map says.

You can get to Ecurteak in maybe two weeks. Just need someone with a squirt bottle to help you out.

Yeah, it gets the job done. Otherwise you'd be on the road for at least three weeks after you hit Violet.

A sudda-whatnow? These pokey-mon sure got some weird names.
