What in tarnation is this!?

[The gear feed opens on the ground, half-obscured by grass. Not too far in the distance, a young, fair-skinned girl sits shakily on her knees, her face obscured by a ten-gallon hat and a large golden ponytail. Her knees are scuffed and her face is dirty, signs she just fell from her feet. However, rather than trying to get back up, she remains on her knees, staring at her hands in disbelief.]

I swear... [She pants.] I swear... if this is one of your tricks, Discord... [She tries to get back on her feet, but stumbles backwards. Her hat falls off her head, revealing her freckled face and shocking green eyes.]

You ain't gonna have any teeth when I'm through with you!!

[Because with how well she's taken to walking, she's hoping she's a few houses away...]

[... sheepish smile.]

A month?

[Where's Twilight and her teleporting spell when you need her?]

Well you can start by explainin' how I'm supposed to use these. [She points down at her legs. Balance, how you work?]

[... and though she doubts problems will repeat, Pinkie's introduction makes her want to keep certain things from happening.]

Yeah, I was wonderin' about that. Feels a little constrictin', but if that's what hue-mans do, then okay.

[Oh, oh, oh, she nearly forgot! What is your Pokemon, show meeeeee]

Oh. I suppose you're right.

[She takes a look at the ball.] I just... push this here button, right?

[Fervent nodding!]

[She hesitates for a moment, before tapping the button. The ball opens, and in a bright flash of light, out dives a young Growlithe. The enthusiastic pup lands in her arms, knocking her backwards. She stumbles a bit, but manages to keep her balance this time.]

Woah there!

[Much squeeing is had!]

[The Growlithe barks happily, licking her new master's face, causing AJ to squirm and laugh.]

H-hey there, little missy. You're an enthusiastic one, ain't ya?

[D-Dawwww. Happies everywhere.]

Fight? This lil' one? She doesn't look like she could fight a tree, let alone anythin' else.

[Aww Fluttershy.] I wouldn't expect any different, sugarcube. I'm sure your pokey-mon are really in love with you.

[Blush!]

[Winiona happily yips in agreement.]

[The Growlithe hears Winona's yipping and answers with some of her own, spurring Applejack to stroke her head.]

Looks like these two are already gettin' along!

[Yipping contest!]

[She chuckles, giving the Growlithe a scratch behind the ear.]

I think I'll call her 'Jessie'. What d'you think, Fluttershy?

Then it's official. [She tightens her grasp on Jessie, hugging her. The excited pup responds with a happy yip.]

...So. Any shortcuts ya can think of? Somethin' t' help me get t' you faster?
