[Good evening, residents of Johto. I hope you're a fan of loud sounds! The 'Gear feed opens to the sound of a loud crack of a backpack hitting a tree, before splashing down into a pile of snow.]

You ate all my food, you good-for-nothing thief! [A young woman's voice yells out in a heavy southern drawl. The target of her frustration wanders into view: a Munchlax, who takes the opportunity to rummage through her backpack for any morsel he might have left behind in his last raid. His eyes grow wide at the sight of the pokegear. It's so shiny and red, like a big yummy apple.

...And then anyone watching gets to find out what the inside of a Munchlax's mouth looks like.]

Gimme that! That ain't for eatin'!

[A woman's hand rips the 'Gear from the pokemon's mouth, the force causing her to topple backwards into the snow. She appears to be in her early twenties, her face dotted with freckles and framed with golden-blonde hair tied into a ponytail near the bottom. Wearing nothing but a pair of blue jeans and an orange button-down, she doesn't exactly look properly dressed for the weather. She shifts awkwardly in the snow, fumbling with the 'Gear.]

Darn these wiggly things, an' this weird body. [She snorts in frustration, before giving up and using her mouth to turn off the feed.]

I wish I could disagree with you. But there are some around here who think more like us. Some of them are actually a lot more... intense than us, honestly.

I was planning on waiting until you got enough strong Pokemon to join- Wait how did you know she was a woman?

[Twi, with the exception of Shining Armor, all the leaders where you come from are women.]

Just a lucky guess, I reckon. Can't say I know too many male leaders.

True. That's just kind of a peculiarity of Equestria, though. There are plenty of them elsewhere, including here. It's actually a pretty even male/female split in Johto and Kanto.

Kanto and Johto are the regions that we can go to in this world. There are others, but we can't reach them. The only ways between them are by ferry or by this amazing train that runs between the two largest cities.

A train...?

[She shakes her head, eyes still shut tight.]

Why do I not like the sound of that?

You didn't have any trouble going out to Appleloosa.

N-no, not that. I mean... I feel like my brain's tryin' to remember somethin'.

[Twilight, how do I memory? It no work.]

[She pauses. Wait. What had she been told about right when she got to Johto involving the Magnet Train...?]

... What if I mention Team Rocket and the Magnet Train in the same sentence? Does that jog anything?

N-not much yet, but... I wouldn't be surprised if they had somethin' to do with it. Did they do somethin' to the train before?

It was before I arrived, but I remember you girls telling me about a heist they pulled on the train. You might be remembering something about that.

That... must be it. I'm sure it'll come to me eventually. but... it's safe t'use now, right?

[friendyousohard]

Well, nothing's happened on it since, and me and Fluttershy have used it once for a round trip. So it's been safe for over a year.

[Of course, the Rockets could attack it again precisely for that reason...]

Well alright. I know I'd be real interested to see what another region looks like.

[friendyousohard]

Personally, I want to finish exploring this region. I've still got Olivine, Cianwood, Mahogany, Blackthorn, and all the routes between them to see. But I have to admit the idea of going to see Kanto is pretty interesting too...

[buckyouup]

I... have no idea what any of those places are. [She chuckles awkwardly.] But... if you're goin', you know I'm right behind you.

Ah, right. Sorry, kind of went off on a tangent there. We won't be going much of anywhere but Violet or Goldenrod for a while anyway.

Because of Fluttershy. [She was in bed when she spoke to her. It's likely she hasn't left it since she was poisoned.]

We'll make sure she's back on her feet in no time.

Well, not just her. Until you and Rainbow get stronger Pokemon, going too far ahead's not the best idea. But... yes, for now that is the primary reason.

[She's already back to scowling at the thought.]

About gettin' stronger... if I was here before, did I have any pokey-mon? What happened to 'em?
