[Applejack is standing under a tree, her gaze locked on a single red apple hanging from a branch. She grits her teeth. Dumb human body. If she was a pony, this wouldn't be any problem at all. But damnit, she was hungry. She had to try.]

Alright, Applejack. It's just like back home. Nice an' easy, no problem.

[She backs up a couple steps, before running at the tree. When she gets close, she brings up her leg, forcing it into the trunk of the tree with all her might. She stays there, for a moment, glaring at the trunk, which hasn't budged an inch. The adrenaline quickly wearing off, Applejack yelps, rolling off the tree and grabbing her ankle.]

Dang it! Dumb apple, why can't you just fall!?

[Suddenly, shifting in the branches! AJ's eyes quickly dart up, smiling in expectation. She closed her eyes, holding out her hands. Soon that delicious ruby would be in her hands, and she'll finally be able to--OOF!]

[Applejack's eyes widen as the much-larger-than-an-apple pokemon lands on her chest. The Pineco's eyes narrow, growling.]

Uh, hey there, sugarcube. Let's not get too hasty...

[The feed cuts with the sound of an explosion.]

...Wait, your flying Pokemon? (Is Applejack remembering a few things?)

I mean... if I have one. I don't really remember what my old team was like.

[She sighs in frustration.] But I reckon we'll find out when we get to Goldenrod.

Yeah...it's a pretty big city, isn't it? Like Canterlot-big?

I can't say for sure, but what I remember, it felt a lot like Manehattan.

Wow...Manehattan big, huh?

With buildin's up to the sky an' everything.

Wow! It sounds a lot more like Cloudsdale to me.

The buildin's reach the clouds. They ain't built on them, Rainbow.

Yeah, yeah. So, except for blowing yourself up, how's your body working out?

(The only good thing about Rainbow being on her own was that she got to exercise and train.)

I can walk, at least. It still feels funny, but I reckon I'm gettin' used to it.

Maybe I can give you a few pointers, help you remember the awesomeness of losing to me~ (She starts jogging in place.)

[She chuckles.] If your legs were as strong as your ego, nopony'd be able to beat you.

And what makes you think they aren't that strong? (She grins.)

I reckon we'll just have to find out one of these days, won't we?

[When she's not falling over at a slight breeze, perhaps?]

(She spits in her hand and holds it up to AJ.)

[AJ grins right back, spitting in her hand and giving Rainbow's a firm shake.]

...Wait a second, when you said it was another day on the farm, did you mean you ran into a Pokemon?

(You're only recalling this NOW, Dash? Good thing Daring was on the ball, as she pointed with her vine back to the scene of the 'explosion.')

[She raises an eyebrow.]

You think I did this t'myself?

...O-Of course not!

(Rainbow, you totally considered it. Either way, Daring's gone back and has since rolled the barely conscious Pineco to the two. Applejack did wanna catch him, right?)

[Applejack pokes it with the toe of her boot.]

Whatever this thing is... it sure makes one crazy explosion.

It did? No wonder you were blown away!

(Nice way to phrase it, Rainbow.)

Yeah, an' then some.

So, are you gonna catch it? It looks awesome, but...I think an exploding Pokemon might work better on Pinkie's team. If she ever comes back, I mean.

I reckon I should. If anythin', blowin' up is a good last resort.
