[Applejack is standing under a tree, her gaze locked on a single red apple hanging from a branch. She grits her teeth. Dumb human body. If she was a pony, this wouldn't be any problem at all. But damnit, she was hungry. She had to try.]

Alright, Applejack. It's just like back home. Nice an' easy, no problem.

[She backs up a couple steps, before running at the tree. When she gets close, she brings up her leg, forcing it into the trunk of the tree with all her might. She stays there, for a moment, glaring at the trunk, which hasn't budged an inch. The adrenaline quickly wearing off, Applejack yelps, rolling off the tree and grabbing her ankle.]

Dang it! Dumb apple, why can't you just fall!?

[Suddenly, shifting in the branches! AJ's eyes quickly dart up, smiling in expectation. She closed her eyes, holding out her hands. Soon that delicious ruby would be in her hands, and she'll finally be able to--OOF!]

[Applejack's eyes widen as the much-larger-than-an-apple pokemon lands on her chest. The Pineco's eyes narrow, growling.]

Uh, hey there, sugarcube. Let's not get too hasty...

[The feed cuts with the sound of an explosion.]

[Twi was out training not too far from AJ, with Pyrolepi, Snails, and Robo beating everything up under the watchful eye of Tesla, when she hears that explosion. Jumping in startlement, she turns from the current battle as Snails Water Guns the hapless male Nidoran he was fighting into submission, and the others follow her turn.]

AJ... Come on you guys, we've got to go!

[She takes off running, her Pokemon following her... save for Snails, who finishes off the Nidoran and then stands there looking around with the usual Slowpoke look (a vacant stare) on his face. Twilight doesn't even realize he's not following, she's too concerned with getting to Applejack and finding out what just happened.

The run isn't long, and she quickly finds the remnants of the explosion. She tries to make out what's happening in the midst of the smoke, but it's too thick.]

AJ! [Shouting desperately, she rushes in to help.

*Brenn the Squirtle leads the way as Imogen heads over at the sound of the explosion.*

Applejack! What are you doing? Pokemon live in trees, and not all are your friend.

And some apparently explode. That's... new.

[As the smoke clears, Applejack's form can be seen laying on the ground. Her clothes are burnt and her face and arms are covered in black soot. She coughs, slowly sitting up. Not too far away, Bushel, now free from his ball, is busy trying to push the fainted Pineco into his mouth, failing splendidly.]

I-I'm over here, Twi. Don't worry.

[She coughs, sitting up slowly. Her clothes are burnt and her face and arms are covered in soot.]

Nopony told me those things did that!

(Rainbow once slept through a cloud she was resting on as it was sheared. She's totally sleeping through this explosion against another tree, but her Chikorita Daring, has jumped into action - running to the site of the explosion, a Razor Leaf attack used to clear away the smoke.)

[Applejack groans, turning and staring up at the little pokemon. She's okay, but her clothes are ruined, and her hair is a little singed.]

*Omen the Absol merely looks at the apple, eyes glowing a faint pink.*

Pokemon do wild and crazy things, and you don't have ponylegs to get an apple. This could have been a lot worse.

Wildfyre!

*Imogen launches a Pokeball out with her Ponyta.*

Look, walk with her and let's get you cleaned up. Your clothes aren't exactly warm right now, and we'll get you some food.

*And the apple mysteriously falls from the tree.*

Chika!

(Daring waves her leaf at Applejack, motioning her over to the still sleeping Dash.)

[Applejack grins, walking over to the apple and picking it up. She shines it on what's left of her jacket, before taking a bite.]

See? I may not be a pony anymore, but I can still buck a tree with the best of 'em!

[Applejack just shakes her head at the sleeping Rainbow Dash. That girl can sleep through just about anything.]

Good t'see your good friend gettin' blown up didn't disturb you, Rainbow.

(The apple takes that moment to fall as Rainbow stirs and wakes, Daring shooting out a vine to catch it before it lands.)

Eheh...sorry, Applejack. What the hay happened to you?

*Imogen and Omen shared a look. But neither broke Applejack's belief she did that herself. Instead Imogen stacked on lots of sarcasm. But all of it ended with a nearly convincing smile.*

Yes, a free apple for getting blown up and ruining your outfit. Definitely a winning trade, you should do this for all your apples.

There are a lot of things here that blow up, don't blow them up.

[She shakes her head, sighing.]

Just another day on the farm.

[She snorts.] I didn't say it was a perfect method.

But...we're not on the farm.

Chika! (Daring holds up the apple between the two ponies curiously, using a Razor Leaf to split it in half.)

[Applejack grins, taking half.]

Did you get this down for me? That's right kind of ya. [She leans down, rubbing the top of Daring's head, just behind her leaf.]

Chika~!

(Daring appreciates the affection, Rainbow grinning while taking half as well.)

Yeah, Daring's a pretty awesome Grass type. Twilight gave her to me as a Hearth's Warming Eve present.

Well that was right kind of her. [She smiles at little Daring.]

Ha, yeah it was! I got her an egg, too; I think it was called...Slowpoke?

(While Rainbow took a few bites of the apple, Daring just stood and enjoyed the attention Applejack gave her.)

"Slowpoke", huh? Pretty funny, coming from you.

Yeah yeah, you can't see what's inside the eggs when you get 'em. And she wants one of every type.

Can't say I blame her. Every one of these pokey-mon I've seen has been real useful for something. Havin' one of every type means you're prepared for anythin'.

Yeah, but I just want the awesome ones like Daring and Blaze, and any other types that are just as awesome.

[Sigh.]

Too bad the only thing mine's good at is eatin'.
