[Applejack is standing under a tree, her gaze locked on a single red apple hanging from a branch. She grits her teeth. Dumb human body. If she was a pony, this wouldn't be any problem at all. But damnit, she was hungry. She had to try.]

Alright, Applejack. It's just like back home. Nice an' easy, no problem.

[She backs up a couple steps, before running at the tree. When she gets close, she brings up her leg, forcing it into the trunk of the tree with all her might. She stays there, for a moment, glaring at the trunk, which hasn't budged an inch. The adrenaline quickly wearing off, Applejack yelps, rolling off the tree and grabbing her ankle.]

Dang it! Dumb apple, why can't you just fall!?

[Suddenly, shifting in the branches! AJ's eyes quickly dart up, smiling in expectation. She closed her eyes, holding out her hands. Soon that delicious ruby would be in her hands, and she'll finally be able to--OOF!]



[Applejack's eyes widen as the much-larger-than-an-apple pokemon lands on her chest. The Pineco's eyes narrow, growling.]

Uh, hey there, sugarcube. Let's not get too hasty...

[The feed cuts with the sound of an explosion.]

It wasn't the most pleasant thing I've ever experienced, that's for sure.

Is the Pineco doing okay as well?

It's out cold, by the looks of it.

[She turns and points the gear at the fainted pokemon. Sorry, but AJ doesn't really want to go near it yet. What if it blows up again!?]

Other than being unconscious from exploding, it looks alright. It'd probably be fine after a while.

[And then it can explode the next time someone shake the tree!]

Well that's good. I'd hate for it t'get hurt just because it got spooked.

I'm sure it would understand. I know you can bump trees and find Pokemon like that, but it's not like you're doing it on purpose.

[Speaking on that.]

So why are you hitting that tree?

There's some fruit-lookin' thing up in the tree that I was tryin' t'get. It looks a lot like an apple back home, but one a' my friends told me it was a berry.

[She snorts.] Strangest lookin' berry I've ever seen.

Those berries? Yeah, most of them do look pretty weird.

[He was tempted to try them, but he heard tales.]

Even if they're strange, they are pretty useful.

[buckyouup]

Yeah? What for? We can't eat 'em.

Healing. Some of them recovers our Pokemon from effects like paralysis and poison, while a few just heals them. Pretty useful if your Pokemon carry one berry into battle, so they can heal right up and keep fighting.
